How Church Latin sounds

Church Latin sounds a lot like Italian. Each vowel keeps the same sound in every word, and a few letters work differently from English. Under each word, the blue spelling shows how to say it, with the strongest part in capitals.

About the voice: it’s your device’s own Italian voice, which is close to Church Latin but sometimes puts the stress on the wrong part of a word. When they differ, go by the blue spelling.

This device has no Italian voice, so it can’t read the Latin aloud. The blue spellings show how to say each word.
